Region: Jimma, Ethiopia
Producers: Farmers organized in the Tuma Tesso Cooperative
Varietal: Landrace(mostly 74158 and 74110)
Process: Washed, dried on raised beds
Tasting notes: Grapefruit Juice, Rose, Sugarcane
Producer info:
From the Tuma Tesso cooperative in Jimma, Ethiopia, grown at 1900-2100masl, this community microlot was selected for it's intense acidity and beautiful floral profile. We cupped both lots 1 & 3 from this cooperative, and while both were amazing on the table, this one stood out for how intense the rose and jasmine notes were. I was delightfully surprised that the coffee had actually gained quite a bit of acidity upon arrival in the states, super stoked on how this one turned out.
Cup notes:
This cup opens right away to an extremely juicy and tart grapefruit note, backed up by soft and delicate rose and jasmine tones. As it cools, an immaculately clean, slightly herbal sugarcane note comes in, eventually settling into a bouquet of flowers and white tea.
